Here You will learn how to make the simplest and cheap 9v power supply easily. Things needed in making a 9v power supply are a 12v step down transformer, four diodes, a 220 micro Farad Capacitor, a project board or bread board and an IC (L7809CV) these all things are easily available in any electronic shop.
First of all you have connect all four diodes in project board as shown in figure you should connect all the diodes in the direction shown in figure otherwise supply will not work than connect output wires of transformer to these diodes according to figure and connect left and center leg of the IC 7809 with the end of diodes that is shown in figure then connect capacitor to the center and right leg of IC in the same way as shown in figure and final step is to connect two output wires. These wires can be connected to small DC electric motors, bulbs and those devices that requires 9v DC supply. So now you can run devices with your own Supply.
Tips
- If you want to make a 5v DC supply then you just have to change the IC 7809 with 7805.
This supply can be used to run small DC electric motors, 9v bulbs and much more
Warnings
- Be Sure to connect correct wires of transformer to connect in Mains Supply otherwise it will cause a serious damage.
